Jurgen Klopp believes his Liverpool side should have been awarded a second penalty in the dying moments of their 1-1 draw against Manchester City.
John Stones gave City the lead through a well-taken Kevin De Bruyne corner in the first half, but the Red Devils regained parity through Alexis Mac Allister's penalty in the 50th minute, awarded after 'Ederson defeated Darwin Nunez.
A thrilling match ended on a high, but only after VAR reviewed another home penalty in the dying seconds, with Jeremy Doku's clearance appearing to hit Alexis in the chest Mac Allister.
Officials decided to take no further action, although Klopp believes the high kick should have been punished.
He said: “It was a 100% penalty.
They will find an explanation.
It was a 100% foul in every area of the field and could have resulted in a yellow card.
"Everyone around me with an iPad said, 'Wow, it's obvious.
' Maybe they could hide behind the phrase "it wasn't clear and obvious".
"Of course it was a penalty but we didn't take it and that's very good.
" The result leaves Arsenal top of the Premier League after a 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday, thanks to a goal difference advantage over Liverpool - with Man City just one point behind third place.
Klopp however remained positive and praised the fighting spirit his team showed when trailing a goal behind.
He said: "Sensational.
The first 10 minutes we were pressed a bit and Manchester City took the lead.
"The second half was the best second half we've ever played against Man City, no doubt what else.
Of course they hit the post, but we should have scored two or three goals.
Unique football match.
"For me, today, for the first time, we have proven 100% that we are exactly where we should be.
We will fight for it and see what we can achieve .
