Pep says Foden is the top player in the Premier League following his brace against United.
Pep Guardiola declared Phil Foden the best player in the Premier League after scoring twice against Manchester United.
Foden's second-half double canceled out Marcus Rashford's sensational opener before Erling Haaland scored the third in a 3-1 win.
And Guardiola was full of praise for his young striker after turning the situation around with two brilliant goals.
He told the BBC: "He [Foden] is the best player in the Premier League at the moment for the money he makes.
Unbelievable.
"That's the number of games he played.
" He's always been a talented player but now he's more mature and understands the game better, especially defense.
"He can play in the middle, on the right, create moments and cut inside, play on the left, score from the left.
" Guardiola was full of praise for Foden's work ethic, but admitted his attacking contributions were the most important factor in his game.
He said: "When he scored two goals, that made me happier than anything else.
"We don't negotiate that, whoever doesn't do it won't stay in the team.
“He loves football, he lives for football.
"She's such a fun person and her work ethic is amazing.
" Foden has had a great season, scoring 11 goals and providing 7 assists in the league.
And the academy product says success in the Manchester derby means 'everything' to him.
He said: "My goal is to be in the big games.
" That's what I want to do and I think this season I'll prove it.
I just need to keep working hard.
"I understand what it means for the fans: the derby at the Etihad.
"It means a lot to me, scoring is even better, but it's about winning today now.
