Before the Europa League match between Roma and Brighton, two Brighton fans were stabbed and robbed in Italy.
Two Brighton & Hove Albion fans were stabbed and robbed in a bar in Rome on Wednesday night.
According to Mirror, the two 27 and 28 year old fans who were attacked were taken to the hospital after suffering minor injuries and were later discharged.
Fans witnessed this tragic incident before the Europa League match between Premier League side and Italian side Roma.
They were reportedly attacked as they left Via Cavour, in the center of the Italian capital, around midnight on Wednesday.
One of the supporters on the Seagulls fan club forum revealed they were "stuck in a hospital corridor for six hours".
Staff at the restaurant where the incident occurred raised the alarm after witnessing the attack and police were called.
It was reported that a group of six or seven masked individuals participated in the attack and that the victim's wallet was stolen.
A fan from Brighton said: “Me and some of my friends were attacked in Rome last night after leaving a bar.
I just want to say that all Brighton fans in Rome need to be careful.
It's very dangerous here and worse than in Marseille.
Meanwhile, Brighton issued a pre-match announcement to fans containing safety information for those traveling.
One department warned of street crime in the area and passed on advice from local police to avoid wearing colored clothing.
Roberto De Zerbi's side will travel to the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday evening for the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie.
It is thought around 4,000 supporters made the trip to the Italian capital to watch the Seagulls play.
Speaking before the first leg, Italy coach De Zerbi said: "We'll see tomorrow whether the stadium threatens us or not, we played at Old Trafford and we won , we drew 2-2 in Marseille, we played AEK Athens and we won.
I know Olimpico pushes, let's see tomorrow, it will be a test for us.
