Koivisto scores twice as Liverpool beat Aston Villa 4-1.

Liverpool improved their chances of finishing in the top four of the WSL by defeating Aston Villa 4-1. Grace Fisk and Sophie Roman Haug scored early goals to give Liverpool the lead. Sarah Mayling managed to score a penalty for Villa, but Emma Koivisto scored twice in the second half to secure the victory for Liverpool.

Liverpool took the lead after Noelle Maritz committed a foul near the penalty area, leading to a free-kick. Fuka Nagano passed the ball to Fisk, whose deflected shot deceived Villa goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar and went into the net.

Villa tried to respond quickly, but Rachael Laws saved Kenza Dali's shot. Liverpool extended their lead when Nagano crossed the ball for Haug to score with a header.

Villa got a lifeline when Kirsty Hanson was fouled by Gemma Bonner in the penalty area, resulting in a penalty converted by Mayling. However, Koivisto scored twice to reestablish Liverpool's two-goal lead and secure the win, first with a close-range finish from a Jasmine Matthews cross, and then with a header over Van Domselaar.
